Overview

Peak Health Solutions is seeking an In-Patient for its Coding and Documentation department. This position is responsible for appropriately analyze and code complex in patient records. This role will require high level expertise in coding and documentation guidelines, coding clinics and knowledge of MS DRGs, CC/MCC for appropriate reimbursement and compliance.

Responsibilities

Job Requirements: This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma and minimum of 3 year job-related experience.
License, Registration, Certification Requirements: CCS, Certified Coding Specialist (Hospital).
Required Skills:
 Spec'l training in med term, ICD-10-CM Diagnosis and procedure coding.
 Able to decipher operative reports, med orders & various med records in the appropriate selection of codes.
 Experience of Inpatient Coding in Acute care setting.

Qualifications

Job Summary
 Performs ICD-10-CM diagnostic and procedural coding to maintain an accurate database and to ensure accurate coding with a minimum accuracy of 95%.
 Applies knowledge of DRG assignment, Official Coding guidelines, Comorbidity/complication coding, HAC Conditions, accurate POA assignment and current AHA coding clinic guidelines.
 Effectively and professionally communicate with Physicians to clarify the diagnoses for accurate DRGs and severity of illness.
 Ability to code using 3 M encoder or ICD9-CM /ICD-10-CM Book.
 Mentors and trains junior coders.
 Performs Audits as assigned by the coding manger.
 Achieves the organization's established expectations with regard to customer service, team work and safety.
 Responds to all business office questions regarding diagnoses and procedures in a timely manner.
